As sauce makers for over 45 years, we have long-term relationships with ingredient suppliers who share our dedication to environmental stewardship. Whenever possible, we choose ingredients that are grown and produced using sustainable and ethical methods, supporting local and global efforts to protect ecosystems and promote fair labor practices.
Eco-Friendly and Efficient Manufacturing
Our production processes and manufacturing plants are designed to minimize waste, conserve energy, and reduce water usage. We continually invest in technologies and systems that improve human efficiency and lessen our environmental footprint, ensuring that Starport sauces are made with care for both quality and the planet.
Sustainable Packaging
Starport Foods is committed to reducing packaging waste. We use recyclable HDPE 1-gallon bottles and 5-gallon pails for the sauces and recylable corrugated cardboard cartons. We encourage our customers to reuse the outer “double-box” carton that is used for added shipping safety. Our goal is to deliver our products safely while minimizing their impact on landfills and oceans.
Distribution and Logistics
We strive to optimize our distribution network to reduce carbon emissions, partnering with carriers who prioritize fuel efficiency and environmentally responsible practices. We have many foodservice distributors and customers who consolidate purchase orders for full-truckload (~43,000 lb or ~21 pallets) or less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, even utilizing inter-modal logistics (truck-train-truck) to deliver Starport sauces to distributors and chefs with the smallest environmental footprint possible.
