Starport’s Jamaican Jerk Sauce suits our guests’ palates perfectly – not too spicy, not too sweet! We also love that it’s gluten-free so that everyone can enjoy it.
-Vice President for a San Diego Catering Company
The owners of Starport Foods demonstrated the stir-frying process using our existing proteins and vegetables and adding a single Starport sauce for each recipe. By the next day, Chinese dishes were added to the menu and the company website. We have been cooking Asian food and serving happy customers for the past 8 years.

Some of our favorite stories
Getting to be part of your stories and cooking journeys is one of the best parts of our job. Here are some memories that stand out for David and Cheryl.
An upscale California supermarket chain installed cook-to-order, display Wok cooking in their deli. Our promise was to make all the cooks “WOK STARS” and stir fry a meal in 4 minutes or less. Once the customer hand selected their vegetables and specified the protein (beef, chicken or shrimp), starch (brown rice, jasmine white rice or noodles) and Starport stir-fry sauce flavor (Classic Wok Sauce, General Kung Pao Sauce, Garlic Sesame Marinade and Glaze or Coconut Curry Sauce), the Wok cook had 3 minutes to cook the order and another minute to wrap and label the container.
The Asian station in the food court at a large company was always the busiest, and it was operated by a former Panda Express chef. When the chef took a long leave of absence, the Asian food station had to shut down because no one on the team knew how to prepare his dishes. With Starport’s assistance, anyone on the team could easily and consistently make dishes without requiring extensive training. When the chef returned, he loved the authentic flavors and was thrilled at how much time and ingredients it saved.
Here is Luc, the 8 year old son of Starport Foods Operations Manager. He likes all of the sauces, especially the Brown Stir-Fry Sauce for Broccoli Beef. He even likes the spicy flavors that “Mr. David” makes.

Here is Ryan kicking three 50-yard field goals!! He is fueled by Starport Foods! We will happily continue to sponsor our nephew’s culinary cravings.
“It particularly pleases me when minority business people succeed with a product that is outside main-stream American Culture. I feel good about the future because I’m reassured that the American Dream is alive and well. And I feel good about the marketplace, which is always enriched by diversity. David Tsang is the prototypical success story. His House of Tsang line of dry-mix ingredients, specialty sauces, and condiments was an inventive, authentic, and useful offering for chefs experimenting with Chinese cuisine at home. Hormel purchased the House of Tsang in 1992, but David is still tirelessly involved in it. He works with Hormel research and marketing people to develop and refine new products. He never misses an appropriate trade show. Nor is he too proud to continue doing product demonstrations or to make appearances at store openings. He is living proof to me that quality and hard work pays off.
The House of Tsang’s product introductions , by the way, have remained consistently excellent under Hormel’s ownership, and I’m sure that David’s continued presence has been influential. David, unlike some American manager I’ve known, has not simply taken the money and rested on his laurels”.
